I suppose that we’re all a bit hesitant in taking a wrong turn in life that happens to be one way in the wrong way. Hesitation is often a good thing. It gives us a chance at a second assessment.
Unfortunately however, it can deny us of experiences that on reflection, we’ll eventually wish we’d had. For the short, or long term, it can induce a lingering fear, that we perhaps never get over.
Fortunately for our Holy Land Tour tourists, in spite of some anticipation, they venture somewhat into the unknown.
Our choir was seated in their usual pews at the front left of the Sanctuary, and in front of them, to the side, there was the front end of a bus, made in a rather large form, from cardboard. On the side of this, we painted the words ‘Off the Beaten Track Holy-land Tours’. The choir was wearing tourist clothes, and the overall effect was simple, while at the same tine bringing a many smiles with the overall effect.
As I wrote about in an ‘Angels Calling’ blog, there was actually a prop room located up high at the back of the gymnasium stage, that was full of costumes and props, and the cardboard bus prop, to us, was a fortunate find.
Taking chances, following hunches, trusting in the feeling that there are certain things that you need to follow through on, is what led these tourists in our ‘One Way’ story forward, despite the uncertainties involved.
To Nazareth and Back
To Nazareth and Back
Driving through the countryside
It’s easy to imagine why
The prophets found this land so inspirational
Hills and valleys, fields and streams
From Genesis to St. John’s dreams
The tales from long ago so situational
From Capernaum to Bethlehem
To Nazareth and back again
A world of contrasts from the old to the new
Donkey carts and roaring jets
From pick and shovel to diesel Cats
You never can be certain what will come into view
How more can we try
To help peace become nigh?
The dove learns to fly
And the future still could be so wonderful
What’s that on the road ahead?
It looks as if a group of children there
What could be the intent of it all?
We should certainly be careful
Maybe it’s a demonstration there:
We’re driving close to the Barrier Wall
Do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do
We’re driving close to the Barrier Wall
How more can we try
To help peace become nigh?
The dove learns to fly
And the future still could be so wonderful
How more can we try
To help peace become nigh?
The dove learns to fly
And the future still could be so wonderful
