It is sometimes wisely noted that the opposite to the word ‘love’ is note ‘hate’, but is ‘fear’.

It’s out of fear that hate can develop, or greed, or jealousy, or a whole bunch of dark emotions and often harmful actions. This goes for non-actions also, of course. We’ve all perhaps known things we should have said or done, but then fear raised it’s hand and seemed to demand our attention.

Affirming this idea is our narrating angel, helping us gain a perspective on what is taking place, not only with the tourists and the youth, but within each of us.

(Yes, the next time around, we’ll perform this song much more slowly.)

Challenge the Thought of Fear  –  The angel’s second narration

How extreme to find on their way
In a land of apparent dangers
A group of youth who challenge the thought
Of fear in the light of day

Things are seldom all that they seem
In the company of strangers
And who can say for sure of the cost
On a journey that's gone one way

It's not as if we live alone
Never knowing inside what to trust
For courage, each day, must be used
Or like metal, will turn to rust

Now as we sit and ponder the thought
Of what stands as the test of our will
A one way ticket remains in our hands
And a chance that is with us still

It's not as if we live alone
Never knowing inside what to trust
For courage, each day, must be used
Or like metal, will turn to rust
